Halting State by Charles Stross

Halting State Halting State by Charles Stross

My review

rating: 4 of 5 stars

A very good book, although I did at first have problems with the fact the book switches between three different points of view, and each of them is told in the second person, present tense. Between the somewhat disorienting second-person approach and the constantly shifting viewpoints, "Halting State" was a challenging book to read for me. That said the book was an enjoyable read, and I will hope to read more of Charles Stross who is a very clever author.

The Way of Shadows by Brent Weeks

The Way of Shadows by Brent Weeks
The Way of Shadows (Night Angel Trilogy)

My review

rating: 5 of 5 stars

I haven't read a book for a long time, so I looked through the Waterstones website and come across this trilogy by Brent Weeks. I was a bit apprehensive as it look as if Brent Weeks is a new author and has only written thease three books.

I have to say I can't wait to read the next book in the trilogy. Whilst the book seemed to have no storyline to start with by the time you got to the end the twists and turns, suddenly turn you around and bring you to understand, where Brent was taking you.
